Praised Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, Sunday, the role of the Trade Bank of Iraq and its role in easing the burden of the provisions of Chapter VII in the past ten years and the support of the private sector, and expressed the hope that the bank plays a bigger role in the coming period on the international level.
Maliki said in a speech at a ceremony in Baghdad, on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the founding of the bank, attended by "Awan", "The bank was established for many reasons, including the alleviation of the provisions of Chapter VII, which were imposed on Iraq after the invasion of the regime of Saddam to the State of Kuwait. "
He said, "One of the reasons that also called for establishment of the bank was to support the private sector, and how to convert it to a partner in the process of reconstruction and construction."
Maliki expressed his hope that "the bank plays a bigger role in the future within the global banking system, especially after important strides in the development of the bank Systems", praising the bank's management.
And established Trade Bank of Iraq in July 2003, as a government bank wholly owned by the Ministry of Finance, the bank currently has 15 branches distributed between the capital, Baghdad, Basra and Najaf, Erbil and Sulaymaniyah, Karbala, Ramadi, Tikrit and Nasiriyah.
