Arbil / NINA / Kurdistan region's Prime Minister, Nechirvan Barzani confirmed that the region had always supported dialogue and understanding to end all the problems. A statement by the provincial government quoted Barzani as saying, during a meeting with Martin Kobler, the Representative of the Secretary-General of the UN in Iraq: "The Kurdistan region will continue to call for dialogue and understanding, and we are waiting the joint committees, which was formed to address those problems, to start their work." For his part, Kobler, who is visiting Arbil, on the occasion of the end of his mission in Iraq, described the talks between the governments of the center and the Kurdistan region a positive step," noting that "The visit made by Barzani and his accompanying delegation to Baghdad was the reason for resuming talks between the two sides.
