BAGHDAD / NINA / Deputy Prime Minister, Ruz Nuri Shaways met today 30, June with Deputy U.S. Secretary of State William Burns and his accompanying delegation relations between the two countries and ways of enhancing them, and the recent political developments in Iraq and the region.
A statement by the Office of Shaways said that Burns pointed out that the United States supports the recent positive Interior developments in Iraq and rapprochement between political leaders and considers it a positive step to support stability, congratulating Shaways on success of the provincial elections "that will strengthen the democratic process in Iraq."
