Kobler welcomes Maliki's visit to Erbil

Baghdad (AIN) –The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Iraq, Mr. Martin Kobler, welcomed the visit of Iraqi Prime Minister, Nouri Al-Maliki, the members of his cabinet to Erbil and his meeting with President of the Kurdistan Region Masud Barzani, Prime Minister Nigervan Barzani and other KRG officials.
In a press statement received by AIN, he said “This visit is a positive step in the right direction which should be reflected in the political process.”
“I sincerely hope the success for the discussions between the two delegations to settle all the pending issues between the Central Government and the Government of KR and will lead to results that will benefit the Iraqi people,” he concluded. \END\
